Thailand is a jewel of Asia. With its many beaches and forests, towns and temples, Thailand is an all time favourite for tourists around the world. Trekking in the mountains and forests is a main activity especially in the mountainous north, while beaches are well known in the east and south.
The sport is growing fast—the Thai Orienteering Federation was admitted as a member of the International Orienteering Federation in January 2019.

Thai is written with an abugida (“alphabet” grouped in syllables) which evolved from Indic scripts.
Thailand has a relaxed culture; people are polite and friendly, thus the nickname “country of smiles”.
Like China, Thai culture is dependent on “face”, akin to personal honour.
Buddhism is an integral part of Thai culture, and Thai life is fundamentally integrated with Buddhist festivals and customs. Monks are held in great respect.
- Electric plug: Thailand has both A/B (North American) and C/F (European) sockets. Most sockets accept both types of plugs. Power supply is 230V/50Hz
